CONFESSION #0044 — OPEN HOUSE HORROR
Thursday, April 24, 2025
I hosted an open house last weekend where a guy walked in, grabbed a handful of the cookies I'd set out, and then asked if he could use the bathroom. Fine, whatever. Twenty minutes later, I realized he was still in there. I knocked. Nothing. Knocked again. Finally, he emerges looking way too relaxed and announces, "You might want to give that a few minutes." Sir, this is a $650K listing with another group walking in right now. I had to casually close that bathroom door and redirect everyone to the half bath downstairs while making small talk about the "charming original fixtures." Then his wife—WHO I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WAS WITH HIM—starts opening the sellers' bedroom closets and critiquing the homeowner's wardrobe choices out loud. "Oh, she really likes beige, doesn't she?" Ma'am, those aren't staged clothes. That's someone's actual life. They left without signing in, without taking a flyer, and without any apparent intention of ever buying property. Just came for the free cookies and the bathroom experience, I guess.

Judge Reginald Escrow III
⚖️ Presiding
GUILTY OF ENDURING OPEN HOUSE TERRORISM WITH DIGNIFIED RESTRAINT
This Court has seen many things in its distinguished tenure, but the audacity of a man treating a $650,000 listing like his personal spa retreat while his accomplice wife conducts an unsolicited wardrobe review is BEYOND THE PALE. The defendant agent is found guilty only of heroic composure under circumstances that would have broken lesser professionals. This Court notes that "charming original fixtures" is code for "please do not investigate the bathroom situation" and we RESPECT the quick thinking. The cookie bandits who treat open houses like a combination Costco sample station and rest stop shall be sentenced to attend seventeen open houses where they must ACTUALLY discuss mortgage rates. Judge Escrow III requires a moment to collect himself because the phrase "you might want to give that a few minutes" has triggered a judicial episode. Case dismissed, this Court needs air.
SCANDAL RATING: 6.8/10 Bathroom Bandit Accomplices
