I had a seller call me seventeen times in one day because she was convinced the neighbors were sabotaging her open house. Her evidence? Someone parked a "ugly beige sedan" across the street that she felt was bringing down the aesthetic of the neighborhood. She wanted me to knock on doors and ask people to move their cars before buyers arrived. When I gently explained that I cannot control public street parking, she started crying and said I clearly didn't want to sell her house. The next week, we got a full-price offer and she rejected it because the buyers "seemed like they'd paint the walls gray" and she couldn't bear the thought. We're now sixty days on market with two price reductions and she texts me every morning asking why there's no activity. I've started keeping a bottle of wine in my car specifically for after our phone calls. Yesterday she asked if I thought burning sage would help attract better energy to the listing.
