CONFESSION #0214 — SELLER MELTDOWN
Saturday, October 11, 2025
I had a seller completely lose it on me because we got three offers in the first weekend. You'd think that would be cause for celebration, right? Wrong. She called me in tears because "only three" felt like a personal rejection. She'd seen some TikTok about a house getting forty-seven offers and now she was convinced her home was unlovable. I spent two hours on the phone explaining that three solid offers in this market is fantastic, that one was actually fifteen thousand over asking, and that TikTok real estate content is not a realistic benchmark for suburban Ohio. She wanted to take the house off the market to "reassess the energy." The ENERGY. I talked her off the ledge, we accepted the best offer, and she called me the next day crying again because now she felt like she was "abandoning her home too quickly." Ma'am, you listed it FOR SALE. That is literally the desired outcome. We closed last week and she sent me a thank you card that said "I'm sorry for everything." I'm framing it.

Judge Reginald Escrow III
⚖️ Presiding
GUILTY OF EMOTIONAL HOSTAGE NEGOTIATION IN THE FIRST DEGREE
This Court has witnessed many crimes against reason, but comparing a successful home sale to a TikTok popularity contest represents a new frontier of suburban derangement. The agent stands before us as a survivor of what can only be described as ENERGETIC WARFARE, having been forced to validate a home's emotional worth while simultaneously explaining basic economics to someone who apparently believed forty-seven offers was a normal Tuesday in Ohio. This Court notes that the seller apologized via thank you card, which is the real estate equivalent of a hostage blinking "TORTURE" in Morse code. The agent is hereby ordered to frame that card in solid gold and display it prominently at all future listing presentations as a WARNING to sellers who mistake TikTok algorithms for market analysis. Judge Escrow must now adjourn to reassess the energy of his own chambers, which suddenly feels deeply unlovable.
