CONFESSION #0218 — BROKER DRAMA
Wednesday, October 15, 2025
My broker just implemented a new "team collaboration initiative" which is really just code for making us share leads with agents who couldn't generate a lead if their life depended on it. Last week I spent six months nurturing a buyer relationship, finally got them pre-approved and ready to pull the trigger on a $800k listing, and my broker casually mentions that maybe I should "partner" with his nephew who just got licensed three weeks ago. For the experience, he says. The nephew doesn't know the difference between a contingency and a commission, but sure, let me just hand over half my income so he can learn on my dime. Meanwhile, the top producer in our office hasn't attended a single mandatory meeting in two years and operates on some secret commission split nobody's allowed to ask about. When I brought this up at our last office meeting, my broker looked at me like I'd suggested we all work for free. The audacity of wanting consistency. I'm updating my resume to join literally any other brokerage where nepotism isn't the official business model.

GUILTY OF SUFFERING UNDER THE TYRANNY OF TACTICAL NEPOTISM
This Court has reviewed the evidence and finds itself PHYSICALLY ILL at the audacity on display here, though not from the confessor, oh no, from a brokerage that operates like a medieval fiefdom where bloodlines trump competence. The nephew THREE WEEKS LICENSED wants half of an $800k deal he couldn't have sniffed out with a bloodhound and a treasure map. Meanwhile some phantom "top producer" floats above the rules like a ghost with a secret commission split that apparently exists in a sealed vault next to the Ark of the Covenant. Judge Escrow has seen corruption before but rarely has he witnessed such BRAZEN aristocratic tomfoolery dressed up in a team collaboration blazer. The confessor's only crime is having the temerity to expect that six months of actual labor might result in actual compensation rather than becoming a charitable training facility for the broker's genetic obligations. This Court rules the confessor INNOCENT of wrongdoing and sentences the brokerage to the eternal punishment of eventually running out of nephews. I need to step away from this bench before I say something actionable about certain family-operated businesses.
SCANDAL RATING: 7.4/10 Bloodline Commission Heist
