Every single time we find something that checks all their boxes, one of them suddenly discovers a new requirement they never mentioned before. Too close to a fire station. The neighbor's mailbox is ugly. The basement "has weird energy." Last week we finally found THE ONE. Perfect layout, right neighborhood, under budget. They were ready to write an offer. Then the wife noticed the house number adds up to thirteen and she "can't live with that kind of karma." I spent three hours researching whether you can petition the city to change a house number. You cannot, in case you were wondering. Yesterday they texted asking if I could show them a new listing. It's the same house they rejected in April because the kitchen faced west and she doesn't like "aggressive afternoon light." They don't remember seeing it. I do. I remember everything.
