CONFESSION #0867 — SOCIAL MEDIA BACKFIRE
Monday, September 14, 2026
The inspector found something. Not even anything major, just some old knob and tube wiring in the attic that the seller already disclosed. But the buyer's kid, the son, he's maybe 25, he takes a photo of it and posts it on Facebook with my name tagged and says something like "our realtor tried to sell us a death trap, do your research before hiring." Gets like 200 shares in two days. Two hundred.
I didn't even list the property. I represent the buyer. His mom. Who is lovely. Who keeps apologizing for him but also won't tell him to take it down because "he's just protective." He's not protective, he's unemployed and looking for attention.
My broker calls me Saturday morning asking what's going on. I'm at my daughter's soccer game trying to explain that no, I didn't try to kill anyone, the wiring was in the disclosure packet, page 8, I have the signed acknowledgment.
The post is still up. Three weeks now. Someone in the comments called me a "predatory scammer" and that comment has 40 likes.
The deal closed. Everyone got what they wanted. The mom left me a five star review actually, which is nice, but Google shows the Facebook post first when you search my name.
I asked him directly, through his mom, to take it down. He said he'd "think about it." That was 12 days ago. The knob and tube cost like $3,000 to replace. Three thousand dollars. My reputation is apparently worth less than that to this kid who still lives at home.

Judge Reginald Escrow III
⚖️ Presiding
GUILTY OF AGGRAVATED DEFAMATION BY UNEMPLOYED OFFSPRING, FACEBOOK TERRORISM IN THE SECOND DEGREE, AND WILLFUL DESTRUCTION OF GOOGLE SEARCH RESULTS WITH MALICE AFORETHOUGHT
The Court has reviewed this confession and finds itself in the unusual position of directing its righteous fury not at the agent, but at the PARASITIC BASEMENT DWELLER who has weaponized social media against a professional who DID NOTHING WRONG. Let the record show that this agent represented the BUYER, disclosed the DISCLOSED disclosure, obtained a SIGNED ACKNOWLEDGMENT on PAGE EIGHT, and still somehow became the villain in a Facebook soap opera starring a 25-year-old man whose primary life skill appears to be generating engagement metrics from his childhood bedroom. Reginald himself once had a nephew who posted a negative Yelp review of Thanksgiving dinner and that nephew is NO LONGER INVITED TO HOLIDAYS, which is the appropriate familial response when your spawn commits reputational arson. The mother, bless her conflict-avoidant heart, left a five-star review while simultaneously allowing her son to conduct what can only be described as a one-man digital insurgency against basic fairness, and The Court must ask: WHAT IS PROTECTIVE ABOUT BEING OBJECTIVELY WRONG IN A PUBLIC FORUM WITH 200 SHARES? Three thousand dollars to remediate disclosed wiring versus an agent's entire searchable reputation, and this alleged adult needs TIME TO THINK ABOUT IT? The Court hereby rules the agent NOT GUILTY of any professional misconduct and sentences the son to six months of mandatory employment followed by a public apology written in complete sentences, and Reginald must now adjourn because this level of injustice has given him heartburn.
